Characteristic features of the retro style

The concept of "retro" or "vintage" is rather vague, since it does not have a clear link to a particular historical epoch. Designers agreed on the opinion that the time frame of the style fits the period from the end of the XIX century to the second half of the XX century. Therefore, it is quite natural that the retro style in interior design in general and the kitchen in particular has a number of interesting directions, with their inherent characteristics.

Kitchen in the Victorian style that came to us from England at the end of the XIX century, is unthinkable without a working area in the form of a fireplace, a massive dining table, rich furnishings of marble and wood, a large number of handmade accessories.

The art deco kitchen, designed in accordance with the fashion trends of the 20-30s of the last century, is rightfully considered a model of elegance, luxury and chic. In such a room, expensive materials (for example, rare wood and real leather, silver and ivory) or their high-quality imitation, furniture with a predominance of bent shapes, geometric ornaments, chrome or glass details are necessarily used.
